E-Commerce Solutions
For companies in West Sussex considering an online shop
Responsive Online Shopping
Never has it been a better time to consider an e-commerce website to market your products and services online.
In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, even more and more people took to the internet to shop for products – a sad time for the high street, but an opportunity to take your business forward.
Anyone with a business large or small, should consider adding e-commerce to their website, be it a local artisan or High Street shop.
Examples of E-Commerce
This is the largest independent menswear store in the Midlands, a family business since 1961, selling leading menswear brands.
In 2001 we added a shopping cart to his website (Romancart), a very cost effective way of enabling e-commerce for customers to shop securely online – but without huge expense.
Romancart can be customised to suit your shop, build a customer database and used in conjunction with newsletters can generate even more internet sales.
The business owner wanted to retain the look of his website with ‘Add to Basket’ buttons on each page, including size and colour options, as well as quantity discounts for larger orders.
WooCommerce Websites
When author and travel writer, Gillian Angrave, wanted to sell paperback and hardback copies of her book direct from her website, we suggested E-commerce as a solution.
Previously, Gillian generated PayPal buttons for her books, which she found both complicated and time consuming. The system she has now integrates well with PayPal for accepting credit card payments. But in addition we added WooCommerce Payments, Google Pay, Apple Pay and direct bank transfer (BACS) as alternative methods of payment.
Further complications arose with the PayPal buttons when the cost of shipping changed for her books. But with WooCommerce, we have been able to set up Worldwide shipping for each book, adding rates for UK, Europe, US, Canada and Australia.
Upmarket design and branding was important for our client, Shoes and Stuff, an affiliate website selling fashion footwear and trainers.
In this example, the products are not added to the shop directly (by us or the client) but via a data-feed plugin, linked to affiliate websites such as Reebok.
Cottagewebs were asked to set up a visually appealing front end for this website. This included strong branding and logo design, bespoke page headers and stock photography.
With the front end designed, we created additional pages for the online shop, product logos and added categories to complete the project.
